FAST LISA

Fighting hAte Speech Through a Legal, ICT and Sociolinguistic approach

Duration: 01.03.2022 – 29.02.2024

Duration: 01.04.2022 – 31.03.2024

FAST LISA a two years project financed under the CERV Programme of the European Commission which aims to develop a data collection, capacity building and community engagement model targeting a group of young people who will become the ambassadors of online and offline awareness-raising actions, ultimately focused on detecting, understanding and combating hate speech online.

In a European scenario where online hate speech is an increasing challenge for national governments due to its volatility and lack of efficient reporting and combating, FAST LISA will develop a consolidated and cross-border recommended course of action for local authorities focusing on the multidisciplinary use of IT tools, legal knowledge and the active involvement of young people in the fight against online hate speech.

FAST LISA will produce a consolidated and cross-border standard protocol designed for local authorities, revolving around the multidisciplinary use of IT tools, legal knowledge and active participation of the youth. These tools and actions will allow the quick identification and analyzes of cases of hate speech online and to provide the target group, who are young boys and girls living in the three EU regions where the actions will take place - Italy, Germany and Spain, with all the necessary information to protect themselves and to report the crime to the relevant authorities.

The project will develop integrative and replicable urban strategies and policies to prevent hate crimes, raise awareness of the risks of online interactions among young populations and develop a fast and effective system that transcends the limits of national and European regulations.
