Duration: 01.02.2022 – 01.02.2024

The DHeLiDA: Digital Health Literacy for Disadvantaged Adults project is a European collaborative project that aims to improve the digital health literacy of disadvantaged target groups (e.g. older people, migrants). The improvement is done through the acquisition of digital skills, which are important to get online - access to reliable sources on health.

The project will develop digital tools that will enable citizens to classify their health and diseases on the Internet, get info about prevention, better understand diagnoses and treatments, and facilitate communication between patients and health professionals.

Why DHeLiDA?

Digitization

Digitization now affects almost all areas of our lives. That's why it's so important that disadvantaged people in particular develop a conscious approach to digital media so that, among other things, they also have greater opportunities to pursue a job. Because digitization permeates the entire world of work. In terms of the knowledge and skills employees need, digital skills are already important at almost all German companies. The use of digital media, information research on the Internet or digital communication are an integral part of working life.

Health

An inability to work is usually related to physical or mental illness. In order to better understand one's clinical picture or to take preventive action, reliable information and knowledge are important. In this context, digital health skills can be helpful. Because they mean: Having the ability to find, understand, review, evaluate and classify health information on the Internet.

The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union with agreement number 2021-1-DE02-KA220-ADU-000033418.
